Drum roll please… It is with great pride and excitement that we announce the first recipients of the Space to Learn Scholarship. This annual scholarship is available to those in pursuit of STEM-related degrees who are the children, stepchildren or grandchildren of a LinQuest team member.
Congratulations to the following 2022 scholarship recipients!
Rylee Hammar
Major: Environment and Sustainability
University: Western Colorado University
Her favorite subjects in school are science and art. After she graduates, she hopes to become a wildlife conservationist, focusing on ecology and field work.
Elisabeth Jensen
Major: Mechanical Engineering
University: George Fox University
She enjoys both math and science in school and, after she graduates, would love to work in engineering – preferably in a biomedical field.
Andrew Jensen
Major: Aerospace Engineering
University: Purdue University
Like his sister, Elisabeth, his favorite subject in school is math. After graduation from college, he would like to pursue a career as a commercial pilot.
Kristin Hagen
Major: Biomedical Engineering
University: University of California Irvine
Kristin loves school, but her favorite subject is definitely math – specifically calculus. After graduation, she may go to medical school, earn her PhD and become a researcher, or start a company that designs medical devices.
Leanna Allen
Major: Neuroscience
University: University of Texas at Dallas
She enjoys every subject in school but gets especially excited about math and science. When she graduates, she plans on attending medical school to enter the medical field as a doctor.
Joey Schrand
Major: Finance/Data Science
University: Western Colorado University
His favorite subject in school is math and when he graduates, Joey plans to be a Financial Data Analyst, using his degree to help others.
These well deserving scholarship recipients have displayed superior academic achievements, leadership (character, citizenship, loyalty, integrity), and participation in extracurricular activities. LinQuest is proud to provide them with the Space to Learn Scholarship award of $2,000 and support their academic and professional goals.
