For the third consecutive year, LinQuest participated in the annual Colorado Springs “D.C. Fly-In.” During the annual Fly-In, which is planned and hosted by the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation (EDC), business leaders from the Pikes Peak region go to Washington, D.C., to advocate and meet with policy makers on federal issues that directly impact employers. The 2023 D.C. Fly-In was the largest yet with more than 90 participants.
This year’s trip was composed of meetings with Congressional members, think tanks, national trade organizations, and policy groups. The first day, “Day on the Hill,” consisted of a full day of speeches and interchanges with Colorado Congressional members with a focus on addressing the challenges facing the growing city of Colorado Springs. One of the resounding themes of the day was recognition of the hard work from many members of the community to ensure U.S. Space Command Headquarters remained in Colorado Springs. The day was capped by a tour of our nation’s capital. Day Two culminated with a field trip to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where participants were given a tour of the DIA Museum and heard presentations from DIA leadership, including the Director of Analysis, who gave an eye-opening briefing. There were also several receptions hosted by the Chamber and EDC during the trip to further build relationships with Congressional leadership and to strengthen existing connections. Once again, LinQuest sponsored the closing reception, solidifying our partnerships and enhancing our corporate presence in the community.
